Update Redmi Note 3 OS to MIUI 9.0 Android 7.1 Nougat Official ROM

Update Official ROM via Recovery ROM Method

Download latest Official MIUI 9.0 Global Stable ROM for Redmi Note 3 (will release in end of Dec 2017 or Jan 2018) otherwise MIUI 9 Global beta ROM available (miui_HMNote3ProGlobal_7.9.7_21d80de709_6.0.zip) from the above official download link and transfer it the root of your Redmi Note 3 internal storage.

Rename the ROM zip to update.zip and open the Updater app on your mobile.

Tap on the 3 dots on the top right corner and select ‘Choose update package’ and choose latest downloaded ROM

Once the updater verification is done, then the device will ask to reboot to recovery and proceed to reboot in recovery mode.

Wait for a minute or minutes to complete the MIUI 9 for Redmi Note 3-Official Global ROM update and the device will reboot to the system automatically and now ready to restart at official MIUI 9.0 Global Stable ROM.

Update ROM via Fastboot Method

Download official Mi flash tool and the fastboot ROM from the above download section.

Switch off your device and Press the Volume key and Power button at the same time to enter Fastboot mode.

Connect your device to PC/laptop (which is Mi Flash Tool) already installed via a micro USB cable.

Extract the fastboot ROM downloaded from above link and open the file folder and copy its path on the computer.

Now open MiFlash.exe file and Click ‘Select’ and browse to a folder where you extracted the Fastboot ROM and click ‘Flash’.

Wait until the progress bar inside MiFlash turns fully green, which means the ROM has been successfully installed. Then your device should automatically boot to the new version.

It will start flashing the phone and will take around 3-5 Minutes depending on the PC and device.

Device will reboot with MIUI 9.
